Discover a new sense of calm and balance within your body, ready for the season of new beginnings. Created to work with the meridians of the body (energy or Qi channels) that connect to Spring, this practice will open up the body and work to improve health of the liver and gallbladder. Yin yoga allows you to nourish the body through long holds of supported postures, soft adjustments and meditation, and will help to restore the body and the mind to full health and energy.

Learn more about Chinese meridian philosophy, uncover the wonderful benefits of yin, discover how great soft and slow practices can be, and give your body the rest and relaxation it needs to take you with ease and lightness into Spring.

Love your spine: a yin yang workshop

MoreYoga Stoke Newington

22 Stoke Newington High Street, London, N16 7PL

Saturday 2nd November 2019, 1.30pm - 3.30pm

The spine is such an integral part of our body, but how often do we take the time to really focus on giving it some care and attention? So many of us spend our days sitting down at work, or bent over cycling, or working on certain muscle groups at the gym and neglecting the ones that run all the way down our body.

Explore all the movements of the spine through dynamic flows that get you moving in this workshop. Designed to stretch and strengthen your back, the sequences will loosen you up and allow you to connect with your body, and the restorative yin practice that follows will release all your tight areas and work deeper into the connective tissues and fascia. After 2 hours, you'll leave feeling completely relaxed and soft from the inside out.

Chaturanga is one of those poses you may have no idea about when the teacher mentions it in class, or maybe you feel like you aren’t getting it quite right. Maybe it’s one pose you really want to do but feel you need more strength! If done correctly, chaturanga is a great strength builder and adds an extra layer into any vinyasa flow.

Delve into the inner workings of chaturanga, looking at alignment, modifications, and safe practice, as well as learning techniques and knowing how to build up strength for your practice! Also get to know the tips and tricks for bakasana (crow pose), and see how these two postures work so well together to make you stronger and add a new dimension to your yoga style.
